Let It Burn, Civil Rights/ Pandemic Poem

Let it burn
A building that stands so tall
A representation of power
Power that means us no good
The uniforms that come out of it
We're supposed to see them as protectors
But they were never designed to protect us
Its empirical throughout our history
They only show up if we are the danger
They only show up to arrest us
Sometimes they even confuse us for the danger
Then we're left with even more tears
Where is our comfort
If we're left feeling vulnerable then they should feel the same
Burn down their home
Watch it go up in flames
Light up sky
Now do you see that
It's us getting our power back
